protein X - insect meal

Protein X is an insect protein meal obtained from Hermetia illucens larvae (black soldier fly); it represents an alternative and sustainable protein source, characterised by a high nutritional value. This raw material has a high protein content, a balanced amino acid profile and is highly digestible.
The process of breeding the larvae and the production of the resulting ingredients is completely automated so as to guarantee specific controls that ensure product stability, biological safety, traceability and industrial production volumes.
Insect protein meal is permitted in pet food, therefore it can already be used in the formulations for Premium and Super Premium lines. From 1st July 2017 it can also be used in aquaculture.
