Lysine is a limiting aminoacid. It is used in all the different species of monogastric animals (pigs , poultry , domestic animals and fish ) and for ruminants , where it becomes the first limiting aminoacid when the non- degraded proteins of the rumen are provided for the most part from corn derived.

The synthetic lysine can be present in two isomers, D or L , but only the L can be use for metabolic purposes . It can be found in liquid form or in powder form. The lysine we market is produced by Daesang Corporation, a company leader in the food industry in Korea.


Methionine is an amino acid which contains sulphur and it was the first essential amino acid to be used in synthetic form for animal diets.
The commercial product is a crystalline powder classified as “DL”, indicating that the molecule is both right and left-handed.

Methionine acts in the improvement the biological value of the protein and the protein efficiency of the ration. It influences protein metabolism, with vitamin B12 as a synergistic co-factor. A sufficient amount of methionine in the diet is essential to improve the index conversion ratio.


Taurine is a sulphurated amino acid present as a free amino acid or component of small peptides. Taurine is found in animal-derived products, while it is absent in vegetables.

Taurine is used in the conjugation of bile-acids, in the functioning of the retina and of the myocardium and in reproduction.

Most mammals can synthetize taurine from methionine and cysteine during the normal metabolism of sulphurated amino acids. Cats instead have limited synthetic abilities that, in association with a high metabolic necessity of bile-acids, make them the only species suffering from a lack of taurine.


Threonine is considered the third essential amino acid that plays an important role in energy metabolism and protein synthesis process. Is it present mainly in animal feed and is used in diets destined for pigs and for poultry.
The L-Threonine is particularly suitable in low protein diets with a high content in cereals. The benefits highlighted are two: the best assimilation of protein sources and a reduction of nitrogen excreted, obtaining a decrease in feed costs. It plays a significant role also in achieving an optimal amino acid profile.

Bentonite is anabsorbent aluminium phyllosilicate, essentially impure clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite.

The smectite group minerals are distinguished by expandability to both absorption of water and organic molecules within structural layers, and also significant cation exchange capacity.

The clay mineral they are made of, in its crystalline state, derives from the devitrification and subsequent chemical weathering of igneous origin glass, generally tuffs or volcanic ashes. The nature and volcanic origins of bentonite deposits often give rise to greatly heterogeneous varieties of this mineral.

Our bentonite is produced by Laviosa Chimica Mineraria, a leading European company certified with ISO 9001.

Binders anticaking agent: GLOBALFEED A – GLOBALFEED R

GLOBALFEED ® A products and GLOBALFEED ® R consist of carefully selected bentonites with caking properties that facilitate production processes. Water retention (typical behaviour of bentonite membrane based products) facilitates the agglomeration of other components of the feed and helps absorb the moisture.

It also provides nutritional benefits by reducing the contamination of the most common and dangerous mycotoxins. Conversely, it doesn’t absorb vitamins and does not alter the nutritional value of feed.

Added to the feed, it improves fluidity, and homogeneity preventing packing and sedimentation phenomena. It can be used in any type of feed (for hogs, poultry, ruminants and fish).

These products are composed by natural bentonites with high performance. In hydrated form, they have a high specific surface that, together with the excellent colloidal properties, confers to the products special absorption and aflatoxins control properties. High finesse favours the absorption of the most widespread and harmful mycotoxins: Aflatoxins B1 and Fumonisin B1.

Calcium Chloride is a salt that is largely used in different types of production.

The products we commercialize seem like odourless white straw and are specific for different kinds of applications.

CASO FCC (flakes) is used in the food industry, in the dairy sector, in the food preservation industry, in refrigeration, and in agriculture.

CASO FEED (flakes or powder) is a raw material for feeds intended for the animal feed industry.

CASO TEC (flakes or powder) and CASO G (granules) are used in the chemical industry, in the plastics and fluorescent dusts sector and even in the road network sector.

For this latest sector we need to distinguish between two different uses: one for the winter road network and the one for the summer road network.

The first is the most important and best known; calcium Chloride indeed is the most efficient road de-icing substance on the market:  compared to sodium chloride, it can dissolve ice much faster.

Less known but just as important is the use of calcium chloride in summer serviceability; everyone is aware of the problems caused by road dust in conditions of dry weather. Calcium Chloride spread on the surface that needs to be treated absorbs environmental humidity and becomes a solution which impregnates the soil and keeps the sufficient humidity required to fix the dust, thus avoiding drying.




Magnesium plays an important biological function as it intervenes in the growth as an activator of enzyme systems. It is essential for muscular contraction and it also exercises a certain influence on the nervous system. Although it is found in food in sufficient quantity, in particular in the grains of leguminous, roughage, cake and feed meal, it is unfortunately used by animals only in a small part; it is in fact estimated that the average percentage of magnesium absorbed from feed is around 20% – 30%.

The magnesium oxide we commercialize comes in powder, produced in Austria by Styromag has a concentration in MgO > 80% with a guaranteed minimum titrate in magnesium of 48.2% and, last but not least, it has an insoluble residue in HCl lower than 5%.



Phosphorus is the second most abundant mineral in the body of animals after calcium. It plays a key role in the formation of bones and is present in nucleic acids, phospholipids, phosphoproteins and phosphate esters of plain sugars. It also is a part of the metabolism of all substances needed for energy maintenance (ATP).

The main symptoms associated with phosphorus deficiency are: decrease daily weight gain, anorexia, reduced fertility, rickets and osteomalacic.

The range of phosphate commercialized by us includes:

They are all produced by Aliphos Rotterdam, the Feed Production Division of Ecophos Group, former Tessenderlo, that is one of the most important producers of phosphates in Europe. Potassium is the third mineral in terms of quantities in the animal organism after calcium and phosphorus. Except very rare cases given the abundance in forages, you may have symptoms of potassium deficiency during the summer. The potassium carbonate, especially in ruminants, is the most normally used source.
The product we distribute is free from mercury due to membrane cell technology that uses the innovative system of Altair Chimica.

Solvay’s Tixosil are a range of precipitated silica dedicated to the livestock sector.

By adapting its particle size distribution, silica can be used to optimize the flowability of nutrients. In addition, Tixosil’s excellent flowability coupled with its absorption capacity, greatly facilitates storage and transport to the mixer tanks to make feed premixes.

The main characteristics of the three types of Tixosil commercialized are:

T38: very absorbent powder with a granulometry of about 15μm in d50. It is used as an anti-caking.

T38A: very absorbent powder with a granulometry of about 60μm in d50. It is used as an anti-caking agent or support.

These products are often used as a support of acids, pigments, flavors and in milk substitutes’ production.

T38X: powder in the form of micropearl (Tixosil’s Micropearl line) characterized by higher density than other two types, and characterized by excellent flowability, granulometry of about 250μm in d50. It is used primarily as a carrier, particularly for viscous additives like vitamins E.

Use in zootechnical field


The use of sodium bicarbonate in the animal feed industry began in the United States of America in the second half of the Sixties and in Italy approximately 10 years later and up to the present it has registered and extraordinary increase in our country, reaching the level of 60,000 – 70,000 tons consumed per year. It is surely the best known and most used buffer solution in the zootechnical alimentation industry, offering important benefits both to the bovine, swine and poultry sector.

Considering the positive physiological action of sodium bicarbonate on the digestive and the locomotor apparatus, its efficiency on food consumption and animal growth, the physicochemical characteristics of the meat produced and its antitoxic action (although still under examination), today this substance could be identified as a metabolic modulator.

The following are the main effects that the integration of sodium bicarbonate in the diet produces in various animal species.


The progress made in farming techniques and genetic improvement has fulfilled the need for a higher production, improving the quality of the product; from the alimentation point of view, this has led to a revolution in the ration formulas. A buffer substance is required to minimize negative effects caused by the acidification of the feed ration. This is the reason why sodium bicarbonate is now used for dairy cattle, that has shown positive effects on feed intake and on milk quantity and quality.

Action on food consumption

Energy shortage in the postpartum period can negatively affect the entire lactation. During this period, the buffering capacity of saliva, relatively to an excessive decrease rumenal liquids pH, is considerably reduced because of a limited rumenal activity and a reduced secretion by salivary glands. The animal reacts to this situation by lowering its feed intake in a way that is not easily recoverable. Adding sodium bicarbonate to the feed can compensate the reduced salivary production and therefore increase feed intake.

Effects on the quantity and quality of produced milk

Independently from the type of diet and the lactation period, there is no doubt about the positive effect of bicarbonate on the quantity of milk produced and its content in fat. The increase in the quantity of milk can be related to the effects of bicarbonate on rumenal pH control and kinetics, on feed voluntary intake and digestibility, although the intensity of such effects depends on the feed ration and adopted distribution way. Also the effect on the fat level in the milk is connected to the action of sodium bicarbonate on rumenal pH, on the consequent stimulation of cellulolytic bacteria and on the increased production of acetic acid. This acid is the main precursor component in the fatty acids synthesis in the cow’s mammary gland.


The studies carried out on calves and bullocks have demonstrated that sodium bicarbonate surely has a positive effect on calves’ productive performances during the phase of feeding with filled milk. Also in the following phase positive effects on growth and on the feed conversion index have been put into evidence. The improvement of growth performances is determined by a better use of nitrogen, thanks to the capacity of bicarbonate to modify the acid-base balance.

The buffer substance can also help animals to adapt to sudden changes in the feed ration and to its anti-stress effect, responsible for a higher growth rate.


In the monogastric field as well, the use of sodium bicarbonate has proven to be very interesting; great improvements in productive performances have been in fact verified, thanks to the effect of sodium bicarbonate on blood acid-base balance and on nitrogen metabolism with a considerable improvement of the part retained by the animal in the case of low protein and amino acids diets.

Meat swine, both for the slaughtering and sausage industries, have benefited from the positive effects of nitrogen retention and of a decrease in the stress caused by both the permanency in the farm and by high temperature and humidity levels. Moreover, other positive effects have been noticed on the limb weakness syndrome, osteochondrosis and gastric ulcer.

These days, it is also interesting to consider the action of sodium bicarbonate in water to drink in the phases that immediately anticipate the slaughtering since it determines an improvement in meat tenderness and it eliminates aromas and characteristic tastes.

Studies conducted on the bicarbonate integration in liquid diets for the so called “light swine” have shown an increased growth and an improvement of feed conversion. In this case the buffer was allowed to balance the electrolyte balance of the ration (tends to be acidic). Better performance has been observed in sows both in labour and during lactation and also in the characteristics of piglets. The positive effect of sodium bicarbonate on sows can be seen above all, during the lactation period, for which it is evident a higher intake of dry matter and that is indirectly evaluable in piglets, with a higher weight gain at the end of the rearing in respect to the control group.


In the poultry the addition of sodium bicarbonate to the feed ration of laying hens, both at the beginning and at the end of the reproductive period has determined the increase in egg laying levels and in the thickness of the shell. These results have demonstrated that bicarbonate can better fulfil the real needs for sodium, can improve the assimilation and the use of some amino acids and sugars, can control acid-base balance and can produce anti-stress effects on animals.


In the fattening field, with regards to broilers and turkeys, it was demonstrated how sodium bicarbonate can influence positively the animal’s nitrogen balance; it was also shown how the adding to the diet of the same product can considerably reduce problems to the limbs and mortality in animals. Broilers particularly, make a better use of the ration nutritive principles and therefore there is an increase in the efficiency of alimentary conversion and an anti-stress effect.

The product we offer is the Solvay trademarked sodium bicarbonate; the story of the Solvay Group began in 1863, when Ernest Solvay founded the company to implement the new process for the industrial production of sodium carbonate he had patented. Use in Biogas

In addition to the livestock sector, Solvay is investing in new scientific studies and researches also in biogas, sector in sudden technical and commercial evolution that sees Italy as the second player in the number of plants in Europe. The idea of using sodium bicarbonate also in biogas plants came analyzing the remarkable similarities that exist between the rumen of a cow and a digester system . In fact, the same problems of ruminal acidosis which may incur an animal , there are also in a plant in which the operating conditions and nutrition can create over-acidification of the content in the digester . Therefore there were conducted studies in collaboration with the University of Rostock that demonstrated and patented the effectiveness of the buffer effect of BicarZ® in biogas plants . In particular , there have been positive effects in the reinstate to an optimal level of FOS / TAC level of a plant in acidosis and, consequently , in a lowering of the pH . Even in the case of a continuous use, BicarZ® showed excellent performance ; on one hand there are higher yield and quality of biogas , that have the effect to increase kw / h generated , on the other hand, there is an improvement in the digestion of dry and organic matter in the plant that permit , for the same Kw / h generated , a lesser ration and cost of nutrition.

Salt can make food sapid and to give flavour to it, since its presence enhances appetite and makes desirable substances that otherwise wouldn’t be accepted.

Sodium and chlorine are important to keep the necessary cell osmotic pressure in tissues; sodium is the main alkaline element involved in the neutrality of body fluids while chlorine forms the hydrofluoric acid of the gastric acid. Together with chlorine it represents the most important gradient pump of the cell walls. Moreover sodium chloride plays a very important role in the intestinal absorption of sugars, of amino acids and also in the conduction of nervous impulses.

Breeding animals usually can’t find a sufficient dose of these mineral principles in the food they get and, if non properly integrated, this lack can be the cause of inadequate growth, lower milk production, lack of appetite, fertility’s troubles, less resistance to heat and diseases.

The main source used to integrate sodium is the marine salt (mineral salt) or the rock salt (mine salt); in marine salt beside sodium chloride there are other mineral principles useful for the animal organism such as potassium, magnesium, iodine, bromine.

The greater use of water for domestic use has led to a deeper search into ground water tables, where the concentration of minerals is higher. It has therefore become necessary to adopt systems that can soften the water, based on the depurative properties of special resins that periodically need regenerating. Vitamins are different substances that are grouped under the same name because of the role they have in the animal body.

Vitamins are bio-regulators and play a vital and specific role in the proper carrying out of essential physiological processes.

The traditional classification divides vitamins in:

The body of animals of zootechnical interest is not able to synthesize vitamins, with the exception of vitamin C, and is therefore necessary a contribution from feed or a synthesis by the micro-flora of the digestive tract.

In ruminants, an important source of vitamins is represented by the activity of rumenal micro-organisms that ensures a significant production of vitamin K and of the B complex.

The function of vitamin A in the body is to stimulate the growth and protection of epithelia and consequently, to protect the animal from a number of diseases. It also plays an important role in maintaining fertility. An adequate intake of vitamin A is usually guaranteed by the absorption of carotenes, and plant origin provitamin A, transformed into vitamin A at intestinal level. This is abundant in pasture grass, alfalfa and silages.

Vitamin A as such is however only found in animal organisms, and it is particularly rich in fish liver oils.

The biological role of vitamin D is that of regulating the absorption and metabolism of calcium and phosphorus and of building bone tissues. The lack in this vitamin can cause disorders of the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus, weakening and deformation of the bone, rickets in young animals and osteomalacia in adults. Our product comes in granular form, of yellowish tending to cream color on a support of gelatin and carbohydrates. Its degree in purity is equal to a minimum of 500.000 I. U./g





This is an antioxidant since it regulates the development and function of the muscles and the germinal glands; it has a function of detoxification and of stimulation of the immune system. Its lack can lead to fertility problems (abortions, placental retentions), alteration of the muscles, decrease of growth, increase of susceptibility to diseases. Our product is a dirty-white or pale-yellow powder, with a concentration equal to 50%. Support: dioxide silicate.





It plays a fundamental role in the process of blood coagulation since it is essential in the synthesis of prothrombin; its lack therefore determines a prolongation of coagulation time and bleeding. The natural sources are vitamin K1 from green leaves, vitamin K2 produced through microbial synthesis and vitamin K3, menadione, produced through synthesis. While cattle and pigs, thanks to the bacterial production located in the cecum intestine, are usually self-sufficient, poultry species are unable to satisfy through the organic synthesis their needs of vitamin K, and therefore additions are recommended in case of coccidiosis or manifestations of stress.

Essential in the metabolism of carbohydrates, its lack causes slowdowns in growth, loss of appetite and, in calves, damage to central nervous tissue. The product we market is a crystalline powder with a weak and distinctive odour and with a degree in purity from 98% to 101%.





Essential in the metabolism of fats and proteins, its lack can be a cause of growth slowdowns. This product comes in orange yellow to dark yellow dried micro-granules spray form with a purity level of a minimum of 80%.





Pantothenic acid is a very important component of coenzyme A; it therefore operates as chemical mediator in the transmission of nervous impulses and it participates actively in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. Despite it is common in products of both animal and vegetal origin, many specialists suggest an integration for poultry, to favour the fecundity of the eggs to incubate, and for pigs, in order to prevent intestinal disorders, dermatitis and muscle spasms. With the other vitamins of the B group, it is synthesized by the bacterial flora of rumen and large intestine. On the market it is found in the form of a calcium salt, which is calcium pantothenate. Our product is a white powder.

VITAMIN B5 – D Calpan 98%




Vital in protein metabolism, its lack can lead the growth slowdowns, inflammatory forms of the skin and loss of appetite. Our product is a crystalline white powder.





It participates, with vitamin B12 to the synthesis of nucleic acids. It has an anti-anemic function and it protects the epithelium. Although rumenal micro-flora and the large intestine are able to synthesize it, the need for this vitamin increases during pregnancy in relation to fetal development and during lactation for the development of the mammary glands and the synthesis of milk proteins. In chicken, its lack could cause anemia, fall in leukocytes and reduced feathering.

Since it is essential for the synthesis of red blood cells, for growth and for protein metabolism, its lack can cause anemia and growth slowdowns.

Nicotinamide is essential in the processes of energy release from food since it is the vitaminic component of coenzymes operating in the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and proteins in all the animals, it protects the mucosa of digestive apparatus and the skin, it stimulates rumenal fermentation and it arrests lipolysis. In high dosages it also helps fighting rickets.
The lack of vitamin PP presents itself with a very precise clinical picture: pellagra. It can also lead to growth slowdowns, damage to the skin, indigestion, loss of appetite, alterations to the rumenal fermentation, disorders of behavior.
Nicotinic acid and nicotinamide represent the most common commercial forms of vitamin PP for zootechnical use. Vitamin PP we market is nicotinamide from the Belgian producer Vertellus Specialties BE; this is a white crystalline powder with a purity level of minimum 99.5%.





Lipotropic and hepatoprotective factor. It intervenes in the metabolism of fatty acids by facilitating the transport of phospholipids and preventing the accumulation of cholesterol in liver cells.





Betaine is not exactly a vitamin but has similar effects, which are chemically well defined (Group 3a – EU Register of Feed Additives – Annex 1 of EC Regulation 1831/03).

Our product Betakey contains minimum 93% of betaine hydrochloride. It is a white powder with an exceptional flowingness and its biological effect is very similar to that of a vitamin.

Betaine is a methyl group donor, an osmo-regulator able to improve the characteristics of carcasses, and the digestibility of fat and crude fibres. It can be used in diets for pigs, poultry and fish.



The use of urea in livestock diet has remote origins: the first experiments to replace part of the protein diet with this product date back to 1916, in Germany. Since then, numerous tests have shown that the use of urea in the alimentation of ruminants not only is not harmful but, in the correct doses, favours the action of the micro-organisms located in the rumen.

The possibility of using urea is based on the ability of the rumenal bacterial micro-flora to break it into carbon dioxide and ammonia which is absorbed and synthesized in a bacterial protein.

The urea we market is produced by France Yara and is intended only for livestock use, a fundamental requirement whereas there are products on the market that are not intended for the integration in cattle feed but for other uses (agriculture, industry, etc. ) and have a different granulometry from is not ideal for livestock. Furthermore, the use of urea which is not authorized for the feed industry, on top of being illegal, can prove dangerous for animal health.

The inclusion of acidifiers in zootechnics has increased in the feeding of swine and particularly piglets.

Today, they are often weaned early by breeders that cause higher susceptibility to stress and external factors. At weaning, till 2/3 months of life, the piglets’ digestive tract is not yet mature and it doesn’t secrete enough hydrochloric acid, which lowers gastric pH and provides optimal conditions for the production of digestive enzymes. Therefore, the benefits of including acids in the feed are:

  • lowering pH, adding acids to feeds;

  • inhibit the growth of bacteria in the feed, in the stomach and in the intestine;

  • enhancing feed appetibility;

  • reduce digestive requirements in piglets.

Acids can be used in different ways, depending on their aggressiveness, the typology of the plant and the purpose. Pure organic acids are effective but volatile and corrosive; buffered organic acids are not corrosive but they are less effective. The protected organic acids SoftAcid® produced by Borregaard are effective and safe.

Borregaard, using natural and renewable raw materials, produce biochemical substances, biomaterials and bioethanol that can substitute oil based products; is a market leader also in the additives and chemical specialities market, in particular the division Borregaard LignoTech for lignin-based products used in zootechnical sector.

Protected acidifiers – liquid

The SoftAcid® product range is made up of a mixture of organic acids protected by the Borregaard technology, which drastically reduces the corrosion and volatility, which distinguishes pure acids.

The protection system improves the efficiency of organic acids in a simple way: a molecular bond between specific molecules of lignosulfonic acid (protection) and organic acids allows the acid to be released continuously in the animals’ digestive tract. The activity of these acids is directed against both yeasts and bacteria, thanks to the combination of two complementary mechanisms: the effect on pH levels, that causes the lowering of pH, and the bactericidal effect, due to the dissociations of the acids inside bacterial cells which leads them to death.

Moreover, thanks to lignosulfonic acid, which acts as “protection”, SoftAcid® is classified as irritant (not corrosive) with a lower volatility (80%).

Acidifiers – powder
Fumaric acid

White, odourless crystalline powder, soluble in alcohol and slightly soluble in water; it is obtained through synthesis from maleic acid or through fermentation of glucose. It’s a strong acid at pH 4.5 and it’s particularly indicated for integrated feed destined to young subjects, piglets in particular. Besides being used on its own, fumaric acid can be efficiently used in acidifiers mixes, for its strong antibacterial action and control action over buffer capacity in the diet.




Calcium formiate

Calcium formate is a technological additive (E238) used as a preservative. Rovelan inhibits the multiplication of fungi, yeasts, bacteria and protects food from damage caused by atmospheric oxygen and plays a favorable role in the preservation of silage.





Biocitro® and Evencit® Quality are bio stabilised citrus extracts, a source of natural antioxidants including Bioflavonoids and vitamin C.
Flavonoids are natural pigments (natural polyphenols) found in plants that have the role of protecting the body from the damage caused by oxidants and free radicals. More than 5,000 types of Bioflavonoids have been identified in fruit, vegetables, seeds, flowers, beer, wine, tea, and soy. Those found in these products are: naringin (from grapefruit), hesperidin and tangeretin (from sweet orange), quercetin and rutin (from bergamot and mandarin).

Ascorbic acid and other natural compounds contained in citrus fruit, such as saponins, terpenes, biophenols, essential oils and organic acids, are chemically joined to bioflavonoids. These substances have a synergistic effect that manifests itself in their antioxidant, antimicrobial, immunostimulating, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anticarcinogenic, protective of the cardiovascular system and inhibitor of lipid peroxidation properties.

Biocitro® and Evencit® Quality products are stable to light and to high temperatures (up to 120 ° C). They are 100% organic and biodegradable, are compatible with all the common components of the feed, and work in synergy with acidifying components and with other additives. Biocitro® is a product of natural origins obtained from 4 types of citrus fruit: grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot and sweet orange. The biomass thus formed is stabilized with silicon dioxide (SiO2) and 50% vegetable glycerine (in liquid form).

Its main components are: ascorbic acid and ascorbates (vitamin C), combined with citrus bioflavonoids (naringin, hesperidin, quercetin and rutin) and polyphenols derived from citrus fruits, minerals, biophenols, pectin, sugars from citrus fruits, citric acid and other organic acids, and water.

The properties of Biocitro® make animals stronger against bacteria and fungi that are involved in pathological digestive processes, protect natural immunity and improve the nutritional value.

Evencit® Quality is substantially an evolution of the Biocitro® and has a higher content of bioflavonoids, polyphenols and vitamin C.

Evencit® Quality is an extract derived from four types of citrus fruit: grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot and orange, rich in natural antioxidants (vitamin C, bioflavonoids and polyphenols) which, if inserted in the diet of animals, allows them to benefit from metabolic antioxidants.

The product is available in powder form.





Antioxidants are substances capable of preventing or slowing the oxidation of other easily oxydizable substances. In animal feeding that need to be stabilized are, among the others, carotene, xanthophylls and vitamin A. Antioxidants protect lipids from oxidation and they promote a better and longer preservation of animal feed. The purpose of using antioxidant substances is to favour a better preservation of feed, making it last longer in time, and also to improve its use in intermediate metabolism, without damaging the active principles and the fatty acids of the ration.

In particular, linoleic and linolenic fatty acids (found in products of vegetable origin) are attacked by oxygen which breaks the carbon chains and forms aldehydes and ketones which are responsible for the characteristic rancid odour and taste, also caused by oligodynamics (copper, iron and cobalt, in particular).

The product we offer is BHT, a white/light yellow powder. It is insoluble in water and easily soluble lipid with a minimum level of 98%. BHT stabilizes lipids and preserves pigmentation in dehydrated forage.




Bi-Protec® is a Solvay sodium bicarbonate and synthetic amorphous silica based mineral specialty that fights red mite infestation in laying hen flocks.

It can be used during the entire production cycle and in the presence of animals without causing toxic contamination of eggs, hens, workers or the environment.

Bi-Protec® is a non dangerous substance according to Directive 1999/45/EC and its use is allowed in organic production in accordance with EC Regulation 834/2007.

It can be used in solutions (mixed with water) for the treatment of vertical surfaces, or in powder form directly in ventilation ducts used for the drying of droppings of flocks in cage or on the ground.

Unlike pesticides that affect the nervous system and cause parasites resistance, Bi-Protec® performs a mechanical action that allows you to trap parasites. Resistance phenomena do not occur with repetitive treatments.

Bi-Protec® works through a shock effect at the time of laying, the parasites that come in contact with the product die in a few hours (appearance of green spots after the product has dried up).

Bi-Protec® also has a persistent effect of variable duration depending on the level of the initial infestation. Since Bi-Protec® is a mineral product, it does not evaporate with time and therefore, it is active as long it is there.

The product Excentials Energy Plus is a nutritional emulsifier (E484).

Fats and oils are important energy sources in feed formulation and they represent the highest cost as a element of the diet. Therefore improving the energy efficiency of these raw materials is of great interest from an economical point of view.

Nutritional emulsifiers can be used to improve fat digestibility and thus improve the energy efficiency.
An emulsifier is a molecule with a water soluble part (hydrophilic part) and a fat soluble part (lipophilic). The combination of these two characteristics in a single molecule, gives it the unique property that the emulsifier can as well in fat, as in water, and can aid in mixing the two fractions.

When choosing an emulsifier the principal of hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) is important because it gives a value to how fat or water soluble a product is. The scale ranges from 1 to 20, the lower the HLB value, the more lipophilic (mix water in oil) or fat soluble the emulsifier becomes. The higher the HLB, the more water soluble or hydrophilic (mix oil in water) the emulsifier will be.

Alliin plus® is an antimicrobial product of natural origin, composed by a mixture of extracts of garlic and cinnamon (essential oils), which are frozen and dried (patented process). The active ingredients contained in this product are: allicin, found in garlic and aldehyde cinnamonica present in cinnamon oil. Both ingredients are renown for their positive effects on intestinal health.


When garlic cloves are crushed, they form antimicrobial active agents (thiosulphinate). The insect protein meal obtained from larvae Hermetia Illucens (black soldier fly), represents an alternative source of protein, sustainable characterize by an interesting nutritional value. This raw material has a high protein content, a balanced amino acid profile and it is highly digestible.

Live insects are most logical and nature source of nutrition for livestock and pet. In nature, animals prefer fresh food, so live insects can be an interesting and natural protein source in fish feed, poultry, reptiles and many other species. The trials conducted on poultry fed with larvae confirm that animal health improves and mortality rates decrease when a part of the animal diet is composed by live insects. Larvae are not processed and can be administered to animals, therefore are a source of highly digestible nutrients of macro and micronutrients unchanged as in nature (the administration of live larvae to animals must take place in accordance with the local regulations). This raw material is a nutrient especially suitable for hypoallergenic diets as a new source of protein.





The oil obtained from purified insect larvae Hermetia Illucens (black soldier fly), is an alternative and sustainable lipid source. The unique composition of fatty acids derived from insects makes the product replaced by vegetable oils and animal fats. As confirmed by some preliminary studies any adverse effects on the attractiveness and performance of animals fed with this lipid source are found. The insect oil is easily digestible due to the high presence of medium-chain fatty acids, naturally present in the fat of insects (eg. lauric acid). Minerals, from the nutritional point of view, are distinguished in macro-elements and micro-elements in relation to the quantities present and required in the body. High levels of macro-minerals are found in animal tissues and must therefore be administered in relatively large quantities, in the range of grams. The most important are: calcium, phosphorus, sulfur, sodium chloride, potassium, magnesium. Micro-elements, also called trace elements, are present in the body in small quantities and the need for them is minimal, in the range of milligrams.

The most obvious function of minerals is the plastic one, the creation of organs and tissues, but also a bio-regulation function including the maintenance of osmotic pressure and the acid – basic balance of body fluids, muscular contraction, nervous transmission and the formation of certain enzymes and hormones. Essential for life, they play a greater role during the growth and reproduction of animals and contribute, in the same way, to the harmonious development of descendants (through the production of milk).

Minerals, in food and in the products used for mineral integration, cannot be found in the form of singular elements; in feedstuff they are mostly combined with organic compounds while in supplements they are generally linked to one another to form salts. Their use by the animal requires the liberation of the individual minerals that occurs through the separation of the organic matrix and, for the salts, through solubilization. The portion of minerals made available is conditioned by different factors that depend on the particular food and on the progress of the digestive metabolic processes of the animal.


Despite the common fodder and feedstuffs content in iron salts is more than sufficient to cover the requirements of domestic breeding animals, except for the piglets under sow, integration is still recommendable because it is often not readily available.

Although it is present into the body in a very limited quantity, iron performs a number of biological functions of fundamental importance in the processes of cellular breathing; it is the essential component of hemoglobin and of myoglobin and it also enters the constitution of oxide – reductive enzymes such as peroxidase and catalase.

Iron Fumarate

The product we commercialize resembles a fine reddish powder, slightly soluble in water, less in alcohol, with a titrate in Fe2+ iron between 31.7% and 33.2%. Compared to other sources of iron normally used in mineral premixes it offers a number of advantages: high iron content, low toxicity, very rapid absorption and use, compatibility with other additives, resistance to oxidation and excellent therapeutic effects. In virtue of these properties it is particularly suitable to be incorporated in formulations intended for piglets and sows in gestation and lactation.





Iodine is a vital element for plants and animals found in nature only in combined forms; it is found in traces in almost all the rocks, in soil, in spring waters and in the sea. The most consistent part of this trace element, in the body, is located in the thyroid, as an essential component of thyroid hormones, thyroxine and triiodothyronine that have the main function of regulating basal metabolism, growth in addition to influencing sexual functions. In ruminants thyroxine is also involved in the processing of carotene into Vitamin A that occurs in the liver.

An insufficient intake of iodine from feed causes the birth of weak, deformed and often not vital animals with an enlarged thyroid (goiter), slower development, delay of sexual maturity in calves, weak or absent estrus, premature births, placental retentions in adult veal, compromise the quality of sperm in bulls in addition to an unfavorable use of protides and negative repercussions on the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus.

The main characteristics of an excess in iodine are instead reduced growth and reduction of production and asthenia.

Calsporin® is a probiotic approved in Europe as a feed additive and a gut flora stabilizer. It contains a high concentration of viable spores of Bacillus Subtilis C – 3102 and has the function of helping re-establish an optimum gut flora balance resulting in an improvement in feed conversion and increased daily weight gain.

Its specific action leads to a reduction of pathogenic influences and to the stimulation of beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacilli. Furthermore, the application of Calsporin® reduces the negative impacts of harmful bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, Clostridium and Campylobacter.

Yeasts are widely used as probiotics in animal nutrition both in their “living” and inactivated form. MacroGard® is a feed material consisting of beta 1,3 / 1,6 glucans derived from purified cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with immuno – modulation functions.

The yeast cell wall is constituted by a matrix of mannanoligosaccharides, proteins and beta-glucans. The beta-glucans in the cell wall are covered by MOS and, in this form, they can not have an effect on the immune system unless the layer of MOS and proteins is removed. Once this is done, the beta-glucans are “free” and able to bind to specific receptors present on macrophages (primary cells of non specific immune). This bond can be described as a key-lock system and forms the basis to activate the mechanism of action of beta-glucans on the immune system.

MacroGard®contains more than 60% of pure beta-1, 3/1 ,6-glucans and it is used for all the species and for pets.


Inactivated spray dried yeast derived from a selected strain of saccharomyces cerevisiae with high organic selenium content (selenomethionine). It acts as an antioxidant by improving the performance of animals and is particularly effective on the reproductive and immune system, leading to an improvement of the health of the animal.
